Mount Isabel de Torres is one of the highest mountains the Province of Puerto Plata and is accessible either by cable car/teleferico or by vehicle. The cable car journey starts close to sea level in and ends at the peak of the mountain, about 2,600 feet above sea level. There, visitors can look out over the city of Puerto Plata and surrounding areas for an incredible panoramic.

There are 35 acres of botanical garden at the top of Mountain, souvenir gift shops, bar and cafeteria. The garden contains a collection of plants indigenous to the region, including many varieties of orchids and other unique foliage.

To tour the gardens, visitors have the option of hiking or riding horseback along the trails or quad wheeler. Within the gardens is a domed building on top of which is a large statue of Christ the Redeemer, similar to the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
