First Time to Surf and what fun it is when you have lessons.

Off we went, after learning about surfing on dry land in a lovely stretch of beach called Encuentro Beach in Cabarete, the Dominican Republic.  We had been well instructed by Marcus, who has lived in this seaside city for a long time.  He was here when there were no resorts-just virgin beaches!  Of course, he hasn’t aged a day!  Life here is relaxing and it shows on one’s face.

With Marcus’ blessing and teachings at Cabarete 321 Takeoff Surf School we were ready to go out there with the Cabarete waves and try surfing. Our instructors kept a close eye on us.  They helped us surge our boards forward to help us catch the waves!.

Trying to stand and keep our balance was a lot of fun-we swallowed some ocean water but it was great.  We were timid at first but slowly we started to get the hang of it.  We all were able to stand up on the board and surf within forty five minutes or so in the water.  Soon we needed a break from the relenting ocean.  We caught our breaths, drank some bottled water and couldn’t wait to go back out and try it again.  Which we did!  We couldn’t wait to go back out and test our small but budding knowledge of this sport called surfing.

Surf Lessons in Cabarete with 321 Take off

On our trip to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic we decided to try something new on a beautiful and sunny day in Cabarete.  The sun was shining, the breezes were balmy and our hang-overs were mild.  We had quite a few Presidentes (and Presidente Lights), vodka, Jack and Cokes during our local pub crawl in the town of Cabarete.

Cabarete is known as the kite boarding capital in the Caribbean.  We definitely are not experts so we decided to start small.  We were going to learn how to surf first.

Our instructor Marcus was a good speaker.  Located in Encuentro Beach area 321 Take Off offers the the perfect place to learn how to surf.  He patiently instructed us beginners about surfing.  The most important thing I remember about his lesson was to always be aware of what is going on around you-the ocean, surf, clouds, everything.  He said no two days are alike so being aware of your surroundings will keep you alert and prepared.

After the orientation, Marcus took us to the practice boards.  There he showed us and had us practice. This  was followed by all of us getting fitted  with our wet suits, and water shoes.  These came in especially handy since the bottom was a little rocky.  Surfing looks so easy but once you are on a board you find out about muscles you didn’t know you had.  Balance is key.  No easy task sometimes but its a lot of fun.

Cabarete is known for its winds, waves  and nightlife.  We actually found a day that was relaxing and tranquil when we visited.  Cabarete Beach is a beautiful white sand beach located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic and offers the perfect location for Surfing, Wind Surfing, Kiteboarding and many other water activiteis.  We want to thank 321 Takeoff for inviting us over for surf lessons to be published in a later video.

La Isabela is located on the North West coast of Dominican Republic and has a nicely paved road from Luperon that allows easy access and visit to this beautiful beach.

There are several Restaurants there and even one perched next to the beach that serves cold drinks and a variety of fresh seafood.

One category of tours  focus on Dominican ecosystem “eco” tours which range from tropical bird watching to intense adventure scaling of waterfalls while still preserving the natural habitat.  Special attention is given to such eco-tours to maintain the delicate balance of nature and human interaction.

The council is highlighted by the region have good options for entertainment, leisure and practice of sports. Among them are waterfalls, horse riding, fair-rural, fish-paying, good hotels and restaurants with that delicious home-cooked meal. However, a sport is attracting many players to the city, especially on weekends. Although little known by most of the population and with name in English, sports practice has become a fever each day and increasing the number of supporters.

We are talking of Paintball, a sport radical in which two or more teams compete among themselves, using balls that drop shippers of ink to reach the opponent. No need to be in order to practice the sport, but it takes great determination, because the activity of running and hiding the opponent is to take your breath.

Worldwide, the sport already has about 15 million practitioners, most in North America and Europe. In Brazil, until now there is a portal where you can be aware of several innovations in the world of sports, plus information on the largest Paintball League of the country, CBP (Circuito Brasileiro de Paintball) or CSP (Circle South American species of Paintball) , a forum where they can be taken all the doubts and a system that can be classified into advertising used equipment. There are also shopping online with everything you need to play, provided equipment for beginners to professionals.

ASPECTS OF SPORTS

THE TAPE
